Art. 17 b. Obligation to denounce
Persons subject to this Agreement are obliged to denounce without delay to the competent criminal authority any fact which may constitute a crime or an offence prosecuted ex officio which comes to their knowledge.

Is private security regulated by an authority ?

Yes, security companies must have an operating licence and staff must have a legitimation card.

The profession of private security guard is regulated by a permit issued by the cantonal police arms office.

 

What is the main role of a private security guard ?

The security guard is responsible for the protection of goods and people. They welcome, monitor and control access to the sites to which they are assigned. In the event of an accident or exceptional event, they participate in rescue operations.

What are the fields of activity in private security ?

The activity includes, more specifically, mobile patrol services, intervention services, static surveillance agents, remote surveillance and video protection, both in offices, industrial sites, retail outlets and for private individuals.

Is it possible to practice this profession before coming of age ?

No, your age is decisive. You must be 18 years old to work as a security guard.

What level of education is required to do this job ?

The minimum requirements are to have reached the age of 18 and to have completed a first professional training.

Do I need to have had security training beforehand ?
